Choosing The Right Wedding Dance

By Lesley-Ann Graham One of the best things about your wedding is that it’s your party! You are automatically king and queen of the event so you get the crown and the first dance. It’s time to get down. Traditionally, you’ll be doing the two step. Basically that means pick a song that you can sway and take two steps to as you stand on the floor. This can be really sweet but really… you can do that any old time. Come on guys, shake your tail feathers! If you have the least ability to dance and you’re willing to have some fun, learn to dance one very special number. Hire a choreographer if you need one. Show off your ability to dance. If you’ve only danced modern dances, you’ll find that ballroom dances are truly a blending of the skills of two people. You need to work with your partners strengths and catch the rhythm together. It may take a lot of practice so that you move and look beautiful together. After all, dancing should be beautiful to watch as well as execute. Of all the ballroom dances, the waltz is the favorite for weddings. It is fun and easy to learn. It is also easy to dance in a wedding gown. Classic music choices include the Blue Danube Waltz or the Skater’s Waltz. If you want to use more modern music, adaptations have been made of quite a number of songs as well, which may include your favorite love song. Moon River and The Way You Look Tonight are just two of the songs used as alternatives. The foxtrot is another well loved dance for weddings. Couples can move slowly to the strains of Someone to Watch Over Me or more quickly to Cheek to Cheek. This is a more lively dance than the waltz but still has that romantic feel to it. Of course if you really dance well together, don’t be shy about it! Why not go for the drama of a tango and heat up the floor. Make it absolutely scorching! Whichever dance you choose, have fun! Allow yourselves to be Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in your very own dance. Practice hard and don’t forget to keep the dresses in mind. Get the party started the right way… with you having a blast! The Tricky Art Of Dating A Co-Worker

By Peter Portero We’ve all heard that we shouldn’t mix business and pleasure, but the average adult spends most of their waking hours at work each week. That means the easiest place to meet someone, and fall in love, is on the job. But before you become the topic of water-cooler gossip, be sure to consider a few things. If either you or your partner hold a position of power over the other, your company may have strict rules about any relationship that forms between the two of you. A supervisor dating an employee can sometimes lead to sexual harassment lawsuits, and most companies try to avoid that scandal by discouraging inter-office dating. Before you make any moves, check your company handbook for any written rules about dating fellow employees. If your employer expressly forbids it, one of you may need to find another job. If you and your partner work closely together, you’re on the same team, you work the same shift, or you have cubicles right next to one another, your jobs may suffer if the relationship comes to an end. Carefully consider how much you’re willing to risk your career for this relationship. And, even if your job remains intact, understand that you may become the subject of malicious office gossip. Do you still want to date a co-worker? Just remember to keep it discreet. Ideally, you should be so professional with one another at work that no one even realizes the two of you are dating. That is the only way to keep people from gossiping and recognizing you from anything other than your fabulous work ethic. If you are tired of doing online dating, take a look at some free streamate chat options. How To Help Your Teens To Become More Organized

By Aurelia Williams Some would joke that the only way to motivate teens is to threaten or bribe them, well those may work but in the long run, they won’t teach your teen the valuable lesson of accountability {smile}. As you know, teens never seem to lack motivation to do what they want to do — talk on the phone, meet up with friends, go to the movies, etc. But, when it comes down to getting them to do the things that we want them to do and the things that the need to do, that seems to be a different story. Here are some tips that we as parents can use to help motivate our teens to become more organized. Build your teens confidence by identifying the ways in which he or she is already organized. Everyone, including your teen, shows signs of being organized with some things. Teens love to be acknowledged for a job well done so if your child does a great job organizing his or her school work or his or her clothes, try to encourage them to apply those same organizational skills to the other areas in their life that can use some organizational help. Teach them & Have fun. Perhaps your teen really doesn’t know where to begin! Socks here and there, books under the bed, clothes stuffed behind the hamper. All of this can seem like a battle for them that is useless to fight. Why not set up a date with your child to organize his/her space together. Turn on the radio (to their favorite station of course) and together work to de-clutter the space. Keep in mind that your organizational style my not work for them so ask them questions as you go along and try to help them figure out a way to organize things so that it is easy to keep up. Another fun way to get them motivated is to provide fun, funky and cool storage bins to use for those small items that seem to just collect in the corners of their rooms. Set Clear Rules and Let them set the schedule: Be sure that you set clear rules as to what is allowable daily clutter and what isn’t. For instance, if you don’t allow food or dishes in your teens room, be sure that they are following those rules and respecting them. If shoes on the floor are OK, then let them know that as well. Teens need clear-cut rules to follow. Sit down with you teen and simply ask them “What day can you carve out at least 1 hr to do a full room cleaning?” and let your teen set a day (either weekly or biweekly). What this does is let them know you value their time and schedule and it makes them accountable. Finally, be sure you reward and commend your teens organizing successes with either a small token of additional freedom or kind words. Keep in mind that being organized is all about being responsible. For a teenager, gaining trust and freedom from parents is one of the biggest motivations of all. Don’t make your healthy lifestyle a prison sentence. Enjoy what you eat and do. Just don’t eat garbage and don’t look at exercise as punishment. 2) Strength Training A very, very recent study (published in the May issue of the Journal of Applied Physiology 102:1 767, 2007) showed that resistance training boosts metabolism by 10% and increases fat burning by 100%! Picture Frame Crafts For Your Kids Party

By Patricia Jensen One of the most popular party favors is a framed picture of the party guest taken at your kids party. He or she could be showing off a silly hat or party costume, performing an outrageous party game stunt, or wearing a face full of frosting and ice cream. Having party guests create their own make-and-take frame to display this memorable photo makes it an even greater treasure for the memory box. Start with a plain square of cardboard with an opening the size of your picture. When the decorating is done, simply glue picture to the back of the frame. Here’s a brainstorm of frame ideas and decorating materials kids can use: *Cut your photo into a circle and glue to the center of a nice shiny CD. Decorate with star stickers. *Cut frames from different colored craft foam. Layer the foam squares for a unique effect. Decorative foam pieces in many unique shapes and themes are available at your craft store. *Make a simple craft stick frame and decorate it with faux gems, sequins, sparkles, or stickers. *Fashion a frame with craft clay. *Use faux craft fur to make a really “wild” looking frame. Great for a jungle themed party. *Tie one end of a long length of colorful yarn to your cardboard square. Wrap the yarn around and around the square until it is completely covered. *Glue tiny Barbie doll accessories such as combs, brushes, sunglasses, and purses. Ideal for a Barbie party or little girl’s dress up party. *Brush a square of cardboard with white craft glue. Sprinkle craft sand onto the glue in different colors and patterns. Shake excess sand onto newspapers and let dry. *Use outdoor treasures such as tiny pine cones, leaves, and small stones to make a nature frame. Perfect for a garden party or bug party. *Colorful buttons in various sizes and shapes can be laid out in an interesting design. *Apply geometrical shapes of felt in a creative pattern. *Cover your frame with pretty fabric. *Apply colored clay shapes to your cardboard square. *Hard edible sugar decorations for cakes come in a variety of themes. These can be used to decorate your frame. *Different shapes of macaroni make interesting frame decorations. Try elbows, wheels, bowties, and fusilli. *Tiny colored pompoms make a cute soft frame. Apply complementary colors in rows. *Tear off one inch pieces of multi-colored tissue paper. Pinch between fingers, dip in glue and apply to your frame. *Small dried beans or peas laid out in intricate patterns make a unique frame. Kids will love the hands-on party activity and parents will enjoy their child’s picture displayed in their own uniquely creative frame. Whats It worth? The Value Of Sports Memorabilia

By Larry Levine I have a Derek Jeter autographed sports memorabilia baseball. How much is it worth? We hear this question all the time. Everybody wants to know how much money they can get for their autographed sports memorabilia. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple to determine. The short answer is, and the answer that many sports memorabilia dealers tell their customers, is that your sports memorabilia is worth what someone is willing to pay you for it! Although this answer is simple enough, there is a way to determine the value of an item. It may not be what we can sell the item for, but we certainly can find out what similar items have sold for. Let’s take the Derek Jeter autograph sports memorabilia baseball as an example. We are at Yankee Stadium and Jeter is signing autographs on the rail before the game. We toss him a ball, and low and behold, he signs it. It’s our lucky day! We happened to be in the right place at the right time. We now own Derek Jeter autograph baseball. What’s it worth? When we get home from the game, the first thing we do is check the internet to see if we can find a value for our new prized possession. We go to our favorite search engine, type in “Derek Jeter autograph baseball” and, needless to say, we get the phone book. There are literally thousands of sites that have this. We do some more searching and click on to Steiner Sports. Now Steiner is one of the largest memorabilia companies around, are based in New York, and do exclusive signings with Derek Jeter. They sell Derek Jeter autographed baseballs for $500 each. Does that mean my ball worth $500? Lets continue. Next stop, a sport memorabilia store that sell Jeter autographed sports memorabilia baseballs for $399. In fact, this company is a Steiner authorized distributor, the ball is authenticated by Steiner, and is the exact same item that Steiner sells for more. So is my ball worth $399? Not so fast, lets move on. On to eBay. Here we find a very wide range of Derek Jeter autographed baseballs from many different types of sellers. Some have COA’s from Steiner, some from PSA/DNA, some from Joe’s Baseball Card Emporium, and some that have no COA’s at all. Selling prices are all over the board, from as low $50 in some cases, to over $900 in others. We don’t even know if half of these are real. At this point we are totally confused. How can there be such a price difference for the same Derek Jeter autographed baseball? Well the answer my friends, is that they are not all the same! There are many factors that determine the value of similar items. Two of the most important factors are condition of the item and authenticity. When you pay top dollar from a company like Steiner Sports for an autograph sports memorabilia baseball, you get a brand new, snow white baseball, with a strong, smudge free Derek Jeter penned signature on the sweet spot. It is a top condition ball. If you pay less, you usually get less. A Derek Jeter autographed baseball signed on a dirty or soiled ball, or one that is signed on a side panel, or one where the autograph is fading, is certainly going to be worth much less. The same is true about authenticity. If you are not sure that the ball has actually been hand signed by that player, it is worthless. Because of their reputation, a Derek Jeter autograph with a Steiner Sports COA is the best you can do. They witness every ball signed. You can’t beat that unless you see the player sign the item yourself, which is impractical in most cases. Other companies, such as Mounted Memories, Tri-Star, and UDA are reputable as well and their authenticity is not questioned in the industry. Reputation and integrity of the company or individual standing behind the product is more important than the product itself. That is why some people will pay top dollar for their items, because they know that it’s real. So how does my ball compare with these? Well, it was a new ball before the game, but after Jeter signed it, he threw it back to me and I dropped it and it got a little dirty. Plus my friend got some mustard from his hot dog on it. Oh yea, Jeter signed it on the side panel with a sharpie, but I did witness it. Although who’s going to believe me if I want to sell it. But I still want to know what’s it worth? The answer, its worth what someone is willing to pay for it! Derek Jeter autograph baseballs Larry Levine heads Memory Lane sports Company. It provides sports memorabilia products for all kinds of sports fans. We have a huge collection of autograph sports memorabilia products and we also offer a large variety of display cases, accessories for the home or office, and team products for professional, college and NASCAR. How To Stay Happily Married With Kids

By Bonnie Foshee Raising a family can be challenging and stressful at times. However, the common goals and emotional, financial, and physical investments made can be a common bond between husband and wife. One that compliments their marriage relationship. Of course, like anything else worthwhile, maintaining a healthy husband and wife relationship with children underfoot takes effort. The following tips can help keep marital bliss alive: Happy Marriage Recipe Every happy marriage begins and ends with the same ingredient; the willingness to negotiate. The stumbling block in some relationships, however, is that while the husband was taught to take the upper hand, the wife may have been trained to cooperate. Marriage partners in an equal marriage need to define their husband wife role, to themselves and each other. This lays the groundwork for mutual respect; and the understanding that when there is a conflict, both parties must be ready to negotiate. A Touch of Romance Every bit as important as remaining best friends throughout married life, intimacy in marriage is vital. This includes emotional intimacy as well as sexual intimacy. Time alone together to share feelings is a must. An occasional romantic dinner or romantic weekend getaway can work wonders in bringing the two of you closer together and reducing stress. Go on a date with your spouse! And remember, intimacy doesn’t always have to lead to sex; nor should it. Time to just hold hands or cuddle is crucial for maintaining a close, happy relationship. Rituals and Routines A family ritual such as mom gets to sleep late every other Saturday morning while dad gets up with the kids, and visa versa, is a habit that can become a fun, meaningful ritual. And although having a daily routine sounds mundane, routines are essential for a happy, harmonious family life. For instance, weekly or monthly family activites, and a pizza and movie night every other week can be fun parts of a family routine. Agreeing upon rituals that support family values and a daily routine as a couple is another key to a happy marriage. In Summary The best advice I received was from my sister, “You have to work on your marriage. The children will grow up and move away. You still want to have a relationship with your spouse after they are gone.” Your relationship with your spouse has to come first if you are going to be a good parent. The children will be happier and more secure if they see you have a strong relationship. Besides, after your children grow up and move away, you don’t want to look at your spouse and wonder who this stranger is because you do not know each other anymore. Ham Radio Contesting

By Dave Glass Everybody knows that the so called BIG GUNS will win the contest, but you will have fun even if you come in the 9999th . When Hams (Amateur Radio Operators) talk about the Big Guns, they are talking about the radio station that another Ham is operating. These stations are built usually just for contesting. On the outside is a few acres (could be stretching it a bit) of antennas that are of special types (beams, dipoles, and verticals) for different frequencies at legal heights (up to 250 feet). These antennas are on towers with guide wires to hold them straight in the wind, and the antennas are mounted on rotors so the operator can turn them to the desired direction. The inside of the SHACK has at least two of everything. Am not going to get into all the equipment that is in here or the lines/coaxes that run to the antennas as that would take too long and not part of this article. There of course is (HF, VHF, and UHF) radio(s) with antenna tuners and the different amplifiers (will put out up to 1500 volts on HF, less on higher frequencies). These stations are set up by individuals or clubs that are interested in contesting and cost thousands of dollars (since they are all over the world it could be rubles or the currency of that country!). Of course then there are the LITTLE LITTLE LITTLE GUYS that dont have money to put thousands into radio equipment, all they have is an antenna and a radio to transmit on! As you can see, contesting is made of Hams with different amounts of equipment, and they all are in the same contest and communicate with each other as the object of a contest is to see how many contacts you can make! In contesting there are several different modes, and for a contest that has different modes involved, they are on separate week-ends. Modes are a method of communicating, and it can be voice (AM or FM), set of frequencies (HF, VHF, UHF), or digital (RTTY, CW, and others). The reason that I have said and others for digital is that there are always new modes that Hams are using for communicating. Some contests can run for several week-ends and have various types of communication between the operators, each week-end has a different mode of operation for the same contest such as voice and morse code. Which ever mode of operation, an operator still trades the same information with the other operator. That is location of station (i.e.: country, state), call letters, RST (receiving strength of signal), and power of transmitting station. The exchange can include more information, but it depends on the contest and the mode that is used for that contest. HF or High Frequency is known for its bounce capabilities. It can/will bounce off of the earth or the atmosphere, but some frequencies are affected by the daylight (heating) or nighttime (cooling) time of day capabilities of this type of acrobatics! These frequencies also will penetrate to a certain depth in most objects. When an operator has daylight conditions they will operate on the upper part of the spectrum, as night approaches the operators will migrate to the lower part of the spectrum. As can be expected the middle part of the spectrum (around 20 meters) has both daylight and nighttime abilities. VHF (Very High Frequency) and UHF (Ultra High Frequency) are mainly line of sight frequencies with short distance communication. Occasionally under certain weather conditions a oddity called tunnel ducting will transport a signal back and forth for several hundred miles from locality to locality, this is an exception and not the rule! Signals in this area are Microwave frequencies and the power sent to the final for transmitting is regulated by the FCC (Federal Communication Commission) and part of the test to achieve an Amateur License. Some radios in these frequencies are set to a stationary frequency are called repeaters, all repeaters are limited by some contests as to the type of contacts they can make, straight contact without the use of a repeater is legal and not regulated in contests. In contests for higher frequencies the radios and antennas are either mounted on something mobile or are very portable and can be set up and taken down very easily. The world is divided up into grid squares each one measuring approximately 70 miles by 100 miles (more like a rectangle). These grid squares are then designated by two letters and two numbers (LLNN), These grid squares are than broken down into smaller squares (3 miles by 4 miles Rectangles again)) and is designated by two letters at the end of a larger grid square (LLNNLL) to give a better location. The ham operator(s) that is involved in this kind of contesting will try and find the highest point with-in that square for their contacts and move to another square! The same contact is legal as long as it is from or to another grid. Contesting on the Ham Radio can be fun no matter what mode it is in! It is my belief that every Ham Operator should be involved in at least one contest no matter which mode it is in! You do have to turn in the contact sheets within a certain time frame for recognition. There usually is either a certificate or pin stating which contest they were in, as well as the year that it took place. Guess if you win, that would be another feather in your hat as I never have, but I look at all the contacts that I have made and how far away they were and that is all the feather I need! Dave did not change his call sign from KD4YFL to his current call of KS4LI until he was licensed as Amateur Advanced in 1995. After receiving his Amateur Extra License in 1996 he served with several teams that gave licensing exams from Amateur Novice to Amateur Extra including the Morse code exams that were part of the licensing structure at that time. Honeymoon in a Private Villa

By Natalie Aranda With hundreds of places to go for your honeymoon, it can be quite difficult to find one that will suit your needs. After all, this is the one time in your life that you have been waiting for forever. For that reason, your honeymoon needs to be enchanting and luxurious. The first thing you need to do is pick a location. Most couples tend to gravitate towards warmer climates, perhaps Bermuda or Puerto Rico. These places are great for relaxation and a romantic getaway. However, what you do need to know is that a hotel isnt the only place you can stay while traveling. Recently, the newest hot spot are private villas; a luxurious estate complete with your own cook and lush garden. This is a wonderful way to spend your honeymoon, especially since privacy is at your fingertips. If you are looking for a great honeymoon on a tropical island, Bali may be the answer. This unique place not only has hundreds of Bali villa rentals, but they also have private villas for your enjoyment. Balis villa rentals include actual homes that you can rent for weeks at a time, or villas that are actually part of a hotel. No matter what you choose, villas are perfect for any honeymoon. The most important thing to factor in is the expense. If you are on a budget, a private villa with standard amenities may be a better choice. This affordable solution allows you to still enjoy the enchanting view, but you will not have all of the extra luxuries. However, many couples do not feel this is necessary, as they would rather spend the money doing something else. If you still cannot afford a Bali private villa, perhaps a villa that is part of a hotel would be great fit. Although it is associated with a hotel, it is much better than a typical hotel room. Usually you are right on the beach or have an amazing view. You also have much better service and are treated to amazing food and drinks. If you are still not satisfied with any of these options and feel the need to celebrate the special occasion, there are private villas with around the clock service. These private villas are hidden from the rest of the business and are usually set in beachfronts or lush gardens. It is a wonderful experience to have maids, cooks, and an entire pool to yourselves. Although this is an expensive option, it is completely worth every penny. No matter where you choose to go, private villas are the best places to stay. If you have the money, then anyone will tell you to splurge and experience the luxury. With such a special occasion, you should be treated like royalty. Enjoying the private villa and vacation together as husband and wife will not only make memories for years to come, but it also will persuade you to go back and experience it again. http://www.moonsome.com/wedding/wedding_plans.php Natalie Aranda writes on family, love and relationship. Combinational Circuit Design

By Ariese Ansari Combinational Circuit Logic circuits for digital systems may be combinational or sequential. A combinational circuit consists of logic gates whose outputs at any time are determined by combining the values of the applied inputs using logic operations. A combinational circuit performs an operation that can be specified logically by a set of Boolean expression. In addition to using logic gates, sequential circuits employ elements that store bit values. Sequential circuit outputs are a function of inputs and the bit value in storage elements. These values, in turn, are a function of previously applied inputs and stored values. As a consequence, the outputs of a sequential circuit depend not only on the presently applied values of the inputs, but also on pas inputs, and the behavior of the circuit must be specified by a sequence in time of inputs and internal stored bit values. A combinational circuit consists of input variables, output variables, logic gates and interconnections. The interconnected logic gates accept signals from the inputs and generate signals at the output. The n input variables come from the environment of the circuit, and the m output variables are available for use by the environment. Each input and output variable exists physically as a binary signal that represents logic 1 or logic 0. For n input variables, there are 2^n possible binary input combinations. For each binary combination of the input variables, there is one possible binary value on each output. Thus, a combinational circuit can be specified by a truth table that lists the output values for each combination of the input variables. A combinational circuit can also be described by m Boolean function, one for each output variable. Each such function is expressed as function of the n input variables. Combinational Circuit Design The design of combinational circuit starts from a specification of the problem and culminates in a logic diagram or set of Boolean equations from which the logic diagram can be obtained. The procedure involves the following steps: 1. From the specifications of the circuit, determine the required number of inputs and outputs, and assign a letter symbol to each. 2.
